This simulation is set a couple of hours earlier than the actual time of the crash so that a glow is still in the sky and the mountain can be seen against the setting sun. Photo’s of Avianca Flight 52 2 days after the crash 1-25-1990. 158 people were aboard and 85 survived (They ran out of fuel, so there was no fire, a lot of survivors). I live very close to where the plane crashed. I will never forget the sound as the plane coasted by and then crashed. I didn’t go to see it but friends of mine did.
