Over in Brazil, four people have survived a plane crash that killed 24 passengers and crew. The crash happened in the murky waters of one of Brazi’s major rivers.

24 people are known to have died after a small plane crashed into a river in the Amazon jungle.
Four passengers survived -one phoned her husband shortly after the crash.
[Roberto Buchdid, Husband of Crash Survivor]:
“She was very nervous. She just said she was in a community close to Manacapuru and that I had to inform the airline immediately.”
The Bandeirante turboprop operated by Manaus Aero Taxi took off from Coari early in the afternoon.
The pilot said he wanted to return because of bad weather but crashed shortly afterwards.
The plane hit a tree and plunging into the river.
Seven children were among the victims pulled from the water by divers.
Brenda Moraes and a nine-year-old boy were among the four who survived.
It’s thought they jumped to safety just seconds before the plane crashed.
[Brenda Moraes, Plane Crash Survivor]:
“Everything happened very quickly, the plane sunk very quickly and we only stood a chance because we were sitting in the back seats and we managed to open the emergency exit.”
The airline insists all its planes are regularly serviced and examined by the national aviation agency.
An investigation into the cause of the crash will be held.
